Terms of use
These terms are an agreement between you and COSMIC CODES DIGITAL LIMITED (company number 16798563, registered office Fergusson House, 124-128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NJ) for using the Cosmic QR website and web app. By creating an account you agree to them.
Who can join
You must be 18 or over and have a UK mobile number. One account per person. You must use your real name and keep your password and phone safe. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
How connecting works
You connect by scanning someone's live code in person, and you both confirm. Live codes change every 15 seconds, so they can't be shared as screenshots. With no signal, a no-signal code works once the owner confirms you met. For people you know but can't meet, you can send a connect-from-afar invite: a link plus a passcode, which works once and lasts 24 hours. Connecting with someone new to Cosmic QR is free. Connecting with an existing member uses one connect from the person scanning, and only once you both confirm. Either of you can remove a connection at any time.
Your content
You own what you post. You give us permission to store and show it to the people you choose, only to run Cosmic QR. You must have the right to post it and it must follow the community rules. We may remove content or limit accounts that break these terms.
Points, challenges and leaderboards
Points are for real, in-person meetings only: 10 for a new connection, 50 when someone who joined with your invite makes 3 connections within 30 days, 20 each when you finish a challenge with a connection (30 each when 3 or more of you finish), and a weekly streak bonus of up to 25. A challenge only counts when you both scan each other's live code to start it and again after its minimum time. The same two people get full points once a week, half the second time, then none, and you can earn up to 60 challenge points a day. Points count straight away, turn solid after 7 days, and expire after 12 months. Points and connects have no cash value and can't be sold or swapped. The leaderboard only compares you with your connections.
Your level comes from every point you've ever earned and never goes down when you spend. People who can open your profile see your level (your profile lights up in its colour), a crown if you had the most points among you and your connections last month, and milestone badges (how many people you've met, unless you hide your connection count, your streak and challenges done). Levels unlock extras for good: code colours, Space looks, 35 connects a month at Star, and early access to the luxury card at Cosmic. You can swap solid points for code colours, connects, free days of your business card or luxury card early access; swapping never lowers your level.
We may remove points, rewards or ranks gained by cheating, fake accounts or repeated meetings with the same people, and we may close accounts that cheat. Connections made from afar give no points.
Features we add later
We switch some features on after launch. New features follow these terms from the day they appear.
Ending your account
You can delete your account any time in Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts people at risk, and we'll tell you why unless the law or safety stops us.
Our responsibility
We work to keep Cosmic QR running and safe, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted. We're not responsible for what happens when you meet people in person, so take the same care you would anywhere else. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit, such as for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or your rights as a consumer.
Changes and law
We'll tell you before important changes to these terms. They're governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring a claim in the courts of the UK nation where you live.
Connects and the business card subscription

Prices include VAT where it applies. Without a subscription (or free days from rewards), your business card is paused: it isn't shown to anyone, nothing is deleted, cards saved in other people's wallets stay there, and it comes back when you subscribe again. Your Social profile is never affected.
Renewals and reminders
We show the price and how often you'll pay before you subscribe. We remind you 3 days before a free trial ends, before your plan renews for the first time and then at least every 6 months.
Cancelling
Cancel any time in Settings → Digital business card, in a couple of taps, as easily as you joined. Your card stays on until the end of the period you've paid for, then it's paused. Cancel a trial before it ends and you pay nothing.
Your 14-day right to cancel
You can cancel a new subscription within 14 days of your first payment and get a full refund, in Settings → Digital business card; your card is paused straight away. If something you paid for doesn't work, email support@cosmicqr.co.uk and we'll fix it or refund you.
Community rules
Cosmic QR is for people who've actually met. Treat everyone the way you would face to face.
Not allowed
- Harassment, threats, bullying or hate based on who someone is
- Sexual content, nudity, or anything involving under-18s
- Illegal content, including selling drugs or weapons, and scams or fake links
- Pretending to be someone else, or using someone else's phone number
- Sharing someone's private details or photos without their permission
- Fake connections, multiple accounts or anything that games the leaderboard
- Spam, or advertising outside your own business card and Work posts
Reporting and blocking
You can report any profile, post, comment, message, story, business review, business card or anything in someone's Space from its menu. People without an account can report a shared business card from its page. We review every report, act on illegal content as fast as we can, and tell you what we decided.
If someone shares an intimate photo of you without your permission, report it with "Intimate photo of me, shared without my permission" (you can also report it for someone who asked you to). We hide it straight away while a person checks it and decide within 48 hours. If it's removed, the same photo can't be posted again. If we don't remove it, you can ask for a second look once, in Settings → My reports. Blocking is instant and the person isn't told. If you think we got a decision about you wrong, you can appeal in the app within 14 days. A person reviews every appeal, usually within 2 working days, and we tell you the outcome. Out now, Go out and meeting up
Out now and Go out plans only ever show the words you type, never your live location. Only connections you've made Friends see them, and you can end them with one tap. Meet new people in public places and tell a friend where you're going.
Scanning other QR codes
We check links before they open and warn you about ones that look unsafe, but no check is perfect. Never enter card details or passwords on a page you reached from a sticker or poster.
